Corina DuBois is creator of Celebrate Mama! (www.celebratemama.com), a national resource for work-at-home moms and a free-to-the-public festival that benefits local communities while showcasing mom-centric organizations. Here's what this Maryland mother of two preschool boys had to say:
“My ideal Mother's Day would be to wake up with a long cuddle from my boys, followed by spending the day together going out and enjoying some local sights, but with a twist of an alternate universe—no whining, no potty training or diapers, no crankies. It would be a day with just all the fabulous stuff about having kids, like smiles, giggles, exploration and new beginnings without the stuff that requires lessons in parenting along the way. While I happily take the good with the growing, I would love a day where we could just indulge in the amazing art of family. And that alternate universe also includes gifts of jewelry and shoes for the mom.” |

Once and former television executive Olga Acebo just returned to corporate America after taking time off to spend the early years with her two children. Here's what this Miami mother had to say:
“I’m still pretty new to this mommy thing, so maybe my dilemma in regards to Mother’s Day is normal—or maybe it's not. I’m torn between wanting to spend the day alone and finally having some me time and wanting to spend the day with those little creatures that actually made me a mom. What to do? Right now I’m trying to find a happy middle ground and I think I have come up with a solution that works. I want to have my family simply worship me as the amazing goddess that I am. Any acknowledgment of my greatness would be acceptable, like the usual Mother’s Day offerings of breakfast in bed without the kitchen cleanup (that’s where daddy comes in) and a flurry of gifts, hugs, kisses and “Mami, I love you.” That could be followed by either a spa day appointment or girls only lunch date/shopping adventure. ending the day with a fun new activity with the kiddies in which, once again, mom proves she is the coolest mom on Earth. Fun, love and total adoration—what more could a girl ask for?” |

My day would end with an at-home massage, ordering in dinner, a bottle of one my husband's Bordeaux's from 1995 (the year we were married), and Jonathan sleeping through the night!" |
