I have to-do lists scattered on scraps of paper throughout my house. Do you have a recommendation on how to get my to-do list system better organized?—Rosie, Reading, PA
Post it My List Note Pad Samba Collection Wait—you mean that juggling work, family and home keeps you from being perfectly organized? The horror! Just kidding….of course I totally understand. Here’s what I find helpful: try keeping a magnetized to-do list pad on your refrigerator. You’ll always know where the list is, and when you run out of things, it’s right there. This system has kept me (somewhat) sane, not to mention my fridge and laundry room sufficiently stocked. My favorite varieties are the slightly retro ones from Post-it, which are only $3.99 each at office superstores and mass merchandisers like Target. Heck, it’s a place to start, right? My son is two and for whatever reason is completely enamored with Spider-Man. He’s a little too young to read the comic books and see the movie, obviously. Are there any other products that can satisfy he need for all things Spidey?—Heather, Ventnor, NJ
Isn’t it funny what kids pick up on? Luckily, there are some products designed even for pint-sized Spider-Man aficionados. Check out the Spider-Man and Friends Web Spinner ride-on, which is designed for kids ages one to three ($29.99,www.toysrus.com) and the Spider Man & Friends Pal-Around Spider Man who, when you squeeze his hand, says non-violent phrases like “Let’s be friendly neighborhood heroes!” ($19.99, www.toysrus.com). For an update on a classic, you’ll also love the Spider-Man & Friends Mr. Potato Head Spider Spud. It’s Mr. Potato head, but with a leotarted, web-slinging twist ($9.99, www.toysrus.com). Regardless of which toys you choose, don’t forget to remind him that with great power comes great responsibility.

I love to garden but sadly, live in a devoid-of-outdoor space apartment in New York City. Am I totally out of luck?—Debbie, New York, NY
pesto kit While you may never have the garden of your dreams, there are a few ways you can still keep your green thumb vibrant in the concrete jungle. While flowers are always fun, why not choose products that not only beautify your dwelling, but provide you with a little help in the kitchen too? Check out FTD’s Todd Oldham Herb Tray, which comes packed with oregano, sage and thyme plants that are nestled into a cute container ($39.99, www.ftd.com). Other good choices are the Pesto Herb and Salsa Seed growing kits from Agromin, the soil-product manufacturer. The salsa kit includes four, four-inch pots, a salsa cookbook and an assortment of six varieties of chili pepper seed packs, while the slightly larger pesto kit includes six, four-inch pots, a pesto herb cookbook and an assortment of six different varieties of basil seed packets ($29.95 and $34.95, www.agromin.com). You grow, city girl! salsa kit
