THE MOTHER NATURE
THE FAMILY GROOVE'S PROFILE OF A MOM WHO'S MAKING IT HAPPEN

The days of the traditional coffee clutch may be over, but at THE FAMILY GROOVE we're doing it new school,
bringing people together to laugh, learn, share and commiserate in the global village called the Internet.

This month, we want you to meet Lisa Kline, a fashionista fireball who spear-headed the democratization of
fashion with her pantheon of Los Angeles stores. This maven celebrity clothier keeps in-the-know women,
men and children in the cool with her houses of style, including her hot-to-trot online boutique. But it's her
lust for life that we find so dashing.

Read on to see how Lisa Kline dresses for success and lives her life shaken, not stirred.

1. Who are you?
A fun, fearless female. I am intense, hard working and I love my family. I love making a statement. I love having a good time and partying.  I work hard and play hard. I don’t like to sleep. I like to race cars. I love being a mom and wife and boss. I love to inspire and help others. I enjoy cooking and exercising, too.

I am 37.

3. Where do you live?
Malibu

4. How many children do you have and how old are they?
I have a three-year-old girl named Dylan Rose Bryson and a one-year-old boy named Colt Alexander Bryson.

5. What time do you get up?
7:30am

6. What daily rituals must you do to feel normal?
I eat three meals and two snacks a day and must have a Belvedere martini at night
Anything else I find time for is extra.

7. What do you wish you'd do everyday, but haven't been able to incorporate into your routine?

I would love to work out every day or at least three to four times a week. If I'm lucky I train twice a week. Otherwise, my days are very complete.

8. Do you work?
Yes.

9. What do you do?
I own the Lisa Kline clothing stores.

10. Tell us about it.
I work full time. I travel to NYC six times a year and Vegas twice to buy for the stores. I have three locations on Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles (Lisa Kline, Lisa Kline Kids, and Lisa Kline Men). I have a women’s store Lisa Kline on South Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills and a Malibu store carrying men’s, women’s and kid’s clothing. I also have a website, www.lisakline.com. I am very busy all the time. It's hard to juggle being a mom and a wife and a boss and a friend and a daughter and sister—that is why I drink martinis. I have almost 100 employees and a corporate office that helps run all the retail locations. My husband Robert and I work together, which is awesome. He is the vice president of LK and does all the IT, computers, security and manly things. We have a great time, working, raising our kids and playing together. I have a full-time housekeeper who also takes care of my kids. When I come home from work my house is clean and my kids are fed and bathed. I am not a stay-at-home mom. I do spend Sundays and Mondays with my kids as of late. I changed my schedule so I have more mom time. Life is good. Everyone is happy!

11. What is the best thing your mother ever told you?

That I would be successful no matter what I did. That she know I would always land on my feet. Her words were something like, “ I know if you got thrown in the deep end without a life jacket, you would survive”—she was right. She taught me to feel good about myself and be confident.

12. What does being  good mother mean?
Love your kids, tell them you love them and give them affection. Teach them how to get along in society, socialize them, respect them. Live in the moment and make decisions in the moment and you will be a successful mom. If you have to leave your kids with other people, make sure they are being loved and respected and always learning good things that will help make them a successful human being.

lisa_colt_robert,_dillion13. What is your mantra or personal philosophy?
Treat others how you would want to be treated. Smile a lot and laugh a lot. You are the creator of your own destiny—no one can do it for you, nor should they.

14. What do you tell other mother?

Get help (a housekeeper or nanny)! Don’t forget to take care of yourself. Do whatever you need to do to be a better mother.

15. Finish this sentence: I want my children to know
How much this world has to offer, if they follow their dreams. Life is what you make of it.

16. Who inspires you?
Myself

17. What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about life; about every day; about every thing I do. I am very black and white. If I like something, I am passionate about it. I am passionate about going to the market because I love to go to the market. I am passionate about going to work since I love to work. I am passionate about having breakfast with my kids, about going to the stores, about my husband.

18. How do you balance your life as a woman, a mother and a friend?

This one is hard, but I am good at it. I have a lot of energy and I do it all. I love being a woman and working out and being healthy and looking good for myself and my husband and my customers. I am a better mom because I don’t stay home with my kids. My kids get the best of me. When my kids are with me they get quality time. I have no interest in being a stay-at-home mom. I try to go to lunch with my friends, make sure to call them and go to dinner when I can. It isn’t easy, as I said before. The juggling is challenging, but you do the best you can do.

19. What do you wish you knew then you know now?
I should have had kids in my twenties

20. How do you get your groove on?
Enjoying my life and being in control of my world.
