WALK THIS WAY
HUNDREDS KEEP THE PACE TO RAISE MONEY AND AWARENESS FOR
THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION

In the year 2000, New Jersey had an estimated 150,000 people living with Alzheimer’s disease. Experts expect a 13
percent increase in this number by 2025, raising the toll to a staggering 170,000.

On Sunday, October 15, thousands took to the streets of Princeton in a show of support, concern and solidarity for a
disease that affects not only the people who suffer from it, but all those who know and love them.

As the only national fundraiser for Alzheimer's disease, the Memory Walk (there are three Memory Walks statewide)
ushers in an annual burst of help and hope. Bringing together, business and community leaders, healthcare professionals
and families the event helped raise money toward its organizer's $600,00 goal. The Alzheimer’s Association's mission is
to help fund research for treatment, prevention and cause of Alzheimer’s, support programs and services for the families,
caregivers and people living with the disease, achieve needed legislation at local, state and federal levels as well as
education and public awareness.
