LUCK BE A LADY
THE NEWCOMERS' CLUB DOES LUNCH FOR A GOOD CAUSE
On March 14th, the power and voices of many Monmouth County women roared, as they gathered at Water's Edge in
Sea Bright to raise money and awareness for the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center (MCCAC). The lunching
ladies tried their luck at the Chance Auction, where winnings included everything from a pampering spa day to a trip to
Cabo San Lucas.
The Newcomers' Club, a social organization created in 1972 for residents of Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver and
Shrewsbury, welcomes new families into the area and also assists local charities. Throughout the year, the do-good
organization hosts many fun activities designed to help locals, old and new, root in the community while raising
money for their selected charity of the year.
As such, all the proceeds from this year's luncheon helped sponsor the building of the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center, a safe child-friendly facility for the victims of child abuse, neglect and assault and their caregivers.
