THE POWER OF PINK LUNCHEON SERVES UP FUN, FABULOUS FOOD AND PHILANTHROPY FOR
THE VALERIE FUND
Women from across the state showed their true colors at the anual Power of Pink luncheon, held at the Rumson
waterfront home of Judi and Pete Dawkins.
The event, organized by the Women's Council for the Leon Hess Cancer Center at Monmouth Medical Center in Long
Branch and chaired by Lauren Vanoni Vernon, raised nearly $60,000 for the Valerie Fund Children's Center fo Cancer
and Blood Disorders at Monmouth Medical Center. This year, guest speakers author, actress and WOR morning talk
show host Donna Hanover and honoree Gloria Nilson, Monmouth County's real estate maven, regaled the attendees
with their isnpiring stories of personal triumph and gratitude. Heather Brooke Hodnicky, a 20 year old former Valerie
Fund patient at Monmouth Medical Center, received a standing ovation for sharing her moving story of cancer survival.
